Job Title:                    Software Engineer I & II – User Interface

Responsibilities:               

• Work as a part of the development team on a range of visualisation projects
• Keep up to date with the dynamically changing technology with particular emphasis on web services and client side developments
• Report Technical progress to Technical Manager or Software Architect in weekly project meetings
• Identify and solve integration problems with internal and 3rd party software components

Experience:               

•  Around 1 to 3 years experience developing web based user interfaces (Level I or II to be decided based on experience)
• Minimum 1 year experience in Java, JEE and Web Services
• Experience developing advanced user interfaces using RIA frameworks and understanding of usability paradigms
• Experience in JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, XHTML, CSS, JSP, Servlets
• Experience with MVC, MVP design patterns
• Development of prototypes and mockups

Job Title:                    Senior Software Engineer I & II – Java

Responsibilities:               

• Work in a key role, as part of the development team on a wide range of Telecommunications solutions
• Participate in the complete software development cycle from requirements analysis to deployment of the software solution/product including commissioning at customer site
• Responsible for the software design of complex systems and/or services provided to the customer
• Inputs in new methods, tools or processes – UML, RUP, CMMI, Iterative Development, Agile Architectural Model, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development etc.
• Keep up to date with the dynamically changing technology with particular emphasis on Java, Web Services and latest frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate
• Keep up to date with the dynamically changing Telecommunication environment with particular emphasis on OSS/BSS, Service Management, Customer Experience Management and SLA Management
• Basic knowledge of Telecommunication standards such as IETF, ETSI, ITU-T, TISPAN, 3GPP, OMA
• Follow SolanoTech’s process management guidelines
• Report Technical progress to Technical Manager or Software Architect in weekly project meetings
• Mentoring of junior engineers may be a part of the role

Experience:               

• Strong software development experience with 5 to 8 years experience in Java, JEE and Web Services in Unix/Linux/Solaris environment (Level I or II to be decided based on experience)
• Experience working with distributed n-tier client server systems
• Familiarity with Java annotations and dependency injection
• Design experience in some or all of the following technologies – Spring Framework, Eclipse RCP, OSGi, Active M messaging, Sybase IQ
• Experience in XML, SOAP, WSDL, JSON and RESTful communication
• Maintaining builds and version control – Experience with standard SCM tool and IDEs
• Continuous Integration (Hudson, Maven, etc)
• Extensive experience in developing large scale Java server components capable of large volume transaction handling
• Extensive experience in developing multithreaded server side applications with knowledge of thread and thread pool management
• Knowledge of memory profiling, optimisation and experience designing applications for a Solaris run time environment will be an added advantage

• Experience in HTML 5 and CSS 3 will be an added advantage
• Experience with MVC, MVP design patterns
• Development of prototypes, mock-ups, wireframes, storyboards etc.
• Working experience with JavaScript based charting solution, SVG, VML, Canvas
• Working experience with frameworks like GWT, GXT, ExtJS etc will be an added advantage

Job Title:                    Technical Writers and Publishers

Responsibilities:               

• Work as a part of the technical writing team
• Leading a team
• Providing technical documentation for our clients telecommunication applications in the form of user guides and installation manuals as well as other technical documentation as required

Experience:               

•  Around 2 to 5 years experience in technical writing /editing and information content publishing
• Academic qualification in appropriate discipline
• Experience in Telecommunication environment will be an added advantage
• Excellent communications and presentation  skills and fluent in English
• Candidate must have experience in designing information, conducting interviews with Engineers, and evaluating information
• Expert with one or more content authoring tools
• Candidates must be able to supply their previous technical writing projects if shortlisted
• Candidates with project management skills and experience will be considered for Project Manager within the technical writing team
