Santanu Mazumdar is the CTO of SolanoTech. Formerly holding senior positions with Ericsson, Nokia, Tata Consultancy Services and with technology start ups BayPackets Technologies (now GENBAND) and Comnitel Technologies (now IBM/Vallent). 09/07/2008 Software Research Open Evening at AIT Attracts IT and Business Experts
An open evening to highlight software research initiatives and collaborations at Athlone Institute of Technology attracted a large audience. More than fifty representatives of start-up, SME and multinational companies, state agencies, local government and research institutions were present to learn about opportunities for cooperation with the Software Research Centre (SRC) at AIT. The open evening was organised by the recently formed IT Association Midlands in conjunction with the centre. SolanoTech CEO John Mee and CTO Santanu Mazumdar was also present among others. Read more

SolanoTech CEO John Mee has been appointed as Chairman of the newly formed IT Association for the Midlands, Ireland. The Association was initiated in April 2008 and is partnered with the IT Association Galway . The aims of the ITAM are to promote, strengthen and grow the information technology industry in the region.
27/11/2007 SolanoTech signs joint research deal with Athlone IT Software Research Centre
SolanoTech and the Athlone IT based SRC have just embarked on a joint project for evaluation and characterisation of an IMS based Service Creation Environment. The project will involve the creation of a prototype Network Collaboration Tool which integrates IMS communication services and enablers such as messaging, call and push based voice, presence with a social network framework. The Ericsson Service Development Studio 4.0 has been chosen as the SCE for this project which will conclude in Q2 2008. This project is being partially funded by the Border, Midlands, Western (BMW) Regional Assembly.
30/09/2007 SolanoTech Joins IMS-ARCS Project
The IMS ARCS project is a joint academic-industry collaborative project developing IMS expertise within the Irish Software and Telecommunications Industry. IMS ARCS is developing a set of prototype services together with a set of common enablers to serve as exemplars of what can be achieved using IMS technology. SolanoTech joins a list of 25 of Irelands foremost Telco service providers and suppliers as stakeholders in the project. The lead academic partner is the Telecoms Software Systems Group in Waterford IT.
