Next Generation IPTV Services and Applications through Multimedia
Synchronisation
Achieving Excellence Through Research & Innovation
SolanoTech strongly believes that research and innovation plays a very important role for technology companies to be successful. This research will examine a range of synchronisation opportunities and challenges for IPTV. The end result will enable the user to select multiple logically and temporally related media streams from disparate sources and have them presented on an end-device in a tightly synchronised manner. This has particular application in the sporting domain. Scenarios to be examined include multiple video streams, audio substitution, video/RSS/ATOM/Twitter feeds. This research is being undertaken at the PEL (Performance Engineering Laboratory) research group at NUI Galway through the IRCSET (Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering & Technology) Enterprise Partnership Scheme with SolanoTech as a research partner.
